In Cittadellarte-Fondazione
Pistoletto, Biella, from September 11th to 13th 2008 the first
edition of the International Festival of VideoTales for the Promotion
of the Territory. The 4 winners (ex-aequo) are: "Hoc erat in votis", by Manuele Cecconello (Italy), "Plac", by Ana Husman (Croatia), "Miracolo sotto il Vesuvio", by Nico Angiuli (Italy), "Parade d'Amour", by Tamara Sulamanidze (Georgia). |

Cittadellarte-Fondazione
Pistoletto, in collaboration with the Tourist Bureau of the city
of Biella, the Regional Tourist Bureau, the Province of Alessandria,
the Province of Biella, the Province of Novara, the Province of
Vercelli, with the contribution of the Piedmont Region, and in
collaboration with the Museum of Cinema Arts of Turin presents
the First International Festival of VideoTales for the
Promotion of the Territory, which will be held in Biella from
11 to 13 September, 2008. |

![]() The Festival will open on 11 September with the debate "Sui Generis", and will be followed by the showing of the videos excluded from the official competition, a coach tour to explore the territory of Biella, the awards ceremony for the 4 winners, and a seminar held by film-maker Francesco Fei. The intervals will consist of aperidinners at the “Cafeteria Cittadellarte” and the festival will end with a party at the Lanificio Pria, simultaneously to the inauguration of the "Differenti Sensazioni" (Different Sensations) Festival. |

![]() Art thus establishes a connection with the landscape, the history, and the stories of the inhabitants by becoming directly involved in the search for possible cultural – glocal – development trajectories. |

![]() The local institutions were enthusiastic about the idea of describing, valorizing, and interpreting, by means of a video-production, how a person or people relate to a territory, and saw it as a new, exciting means which could stimulate and increase the demand for experience-based tourism – a kind of tourism which is gradually replacing the destination-kind. The objective to create a circuit for the production and channeling of works that talk about and promote a territory by presenting it via a video-narration of stories of people’s lives and personal experiences has led to the development of the International Festival for Territory-Promotion Video-stories. |
